Contribution Terms of Service

Our Terms and Conditions are part of The Photobook Cafe’s ethos, sharing is caring and we want people to feel included and welcomed into our community.

All contributions that are accepted are subject to the criteria laid out, therefore we reserve the right to not accept contributions that do not meet our criteria. It is not a reflection on the quality of your contribution if not accepted.

If accepted, your contribution will be included in our open access public online Archive, once accepted onto the database, we may, at our discretion, request that you send us a physical copy of the item for inclusion in the permanent collection here at The Photobook Cafe.

Once we receive your physical copy, it will be shelfmarked and added to our onsite collection at The Photobook Cafe. Each item in our collection will be considered for future public programmes at The Photobook Cafe, including but not limited to; photobook displays, reading rooms and skills workshops.

By agreeing to these terms you agree to the following:

  • Ownership of content copyright will always remain with the artist.
  • Any copyright of material included in any publication submitted must have the relevant permission for use and The Photobook Cafe cannot be held responsible for any breaches of copyright in the publications.
  • Permission is given to use my images to promote myself and The Photobook Cafe via social media platforms, wide web and public programme projects and exhibitions.
  • Those visiting the collection may photograph and reshare images from your publication.
  • We will do our utmost to ensure people treat your work with respect and look after it, however: we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to items within our trust.
  • By donating your item to the collection, you are agreeing to transfer ownership of the item to The Photobook Cafe without any financial ties.
  • We will not sell the item or in any direct way profit from it financially.
  • All sales of publications are to be conducted by the owner/artist/contributor and the prospective purchaser. The Photobook Cafe does not sell publications and will not enter into any negotiation or handling of sales.
  • We reserve the right to remove, dispose or archive items from the collection as necessary.
  • On perishing, we reserve the right to remove the item from display and may request a replacement copy.
  • We will make every effort to inform you of any collection updates regarding your item.

Any decisions about accepting, including, displaying, removing, categorizing and placement are made by The Photobook Cafe and are final.
