Description
"Cherry Blossom, Don’t Cry" for me is a testimony to a paradigm shift.
In 2023, I traveled to Japan for work. I was in a dark place at the time, feeling lost, dealing with the challenges of aging, hurting in love, and unconsciously drifting away from my most personal photography. I had started focusing only on commercial work, chasing projects that didn’t fulfill me, as if I had forgotten what truly moved me.
And then the flowers came.
I believe they helped me. The cherry blossoms, with their quiet beauty, reminded me to return to myself and to what I love doing: to create again, from a sincere and vulnerable place.
A year later, when I was going through the images, I could feel both the sadness I had carried and the light I brought back. I realized all those feelings had been photographed without me even knowing it.
I feel the book takes you on that same path, moving from darkness to light.
The title "Cherry Blossom, Don’t Cry" was a quiet reminder I kept repeating to myself, a way to cheer myself up during those days.
