<text>The Nudes of Istanbul is an English-language hardcover photobook published in Berlin by Mijuk Papers in 2026. It presents a fourteen-year collective fine-art nude photography practice developed in Istanbul and brought into public view through a Berlin exhibition at Die Akt Galerie.

Curated and edited by Berlin-based photographer and curator Burak Bulut Yıldırım, the book brings together 14 photographers and 133 photographs across six conceptual chapters: Surface, Matter, Opacity, Rooms, Duration and Self-Possession. The works were made in Istanbul through real bodies, real light, constructed studio sets, material interventions and explicit consent.

To our knowledge, The Nudes of Istanbul is the second collective nude art photography book in the century-long history of the Turkish Republic. Within that rare publication history, the book is also distinctive because it includes texts by three model-authors: Zeynep Renda, Su Yeşil and Marmelat. Their contributions address trust, boundaries, consent, body experience, modelling labour and the position of the model as an author within the work.

The publication also includes a foreword and extended curatorial essay by Burak Bulut Yıldırım. It is conceived as an autonomous photobook rather than a standard exhibition catalogue.</text>
