Description
The Fine Arts Center at UMass Amherst is a poured concrete brutalist structure intended to offer art and performance spaces for the children of working families in Massachusetts. As the son of a working class family, these buildings fulfilled the promise of their design, in an angular way, by providing a first-class skate spot for myself and many others over the decades. These images were made while walking there during the first year of social distancing.
